Now that you’ve done your Black Friday and Cyber Monday shopping, it’s time to check out the ZooLights at the Oregon Zoo. There are over a million lights (I counted them all) and you’ll see the zoo in a light. We went earlier in the week. It was very cold, but it was dry and we had a fun time. It’s become an annual tradition for us. ZooLights runs through January 3, 2016. ZooLights hours are 5 pm to 9 pm.
After you had a chance to walk around the zoo and see the wonderful Christmas lights, be sure to take a train ride through the zoo. Train tickets are only $4 each.
ZooLights are included with Oregon Zoo membership. If you are not a member, admission ranges from $9.95 to $14.95. Value night tickets are also available November 30-December 3, December 7-10, and December 14-17. Value night admission ranges from $4.95 to $9.95.
As some of you know, parking at the zoo isn’t free anymore. Parking fees mirror downtown Portland’s hourly rate of $1.60 an hour with a $4 daily maximum during the non-peak season (October 1 – March 31). The parking lot can get full quickly, so might want to take the MAX to the zoo.
[Disclosure: I received admission to ZooLights for review purposes. As always, the opinions expressed are mine and I am not obligated to write a positive review.]
