Free Energy Saver Kits for Oregon and Washington Residents

Energy Saver Kit from Energy Trust of Oregon

The Energy Trust of Oregon is giving away free Energy Saver Kits to Oregon residential customers of Portland General Electric, Pacific Power, NW Natural and Cascade Natural Gas. Washington water heating customers of NW Natural are also eligible for the free kits. Once you complete the short online form, Energy Trust will mail your kit in four to six weeks. I received my kit yesterday (it took about a month).

Here’s what was in my Energy Trust Energy Saver Kit:

  • Four Energy Star qualified compact fluorescent light bulbs
The CFLs use 75% less energy than standard bulbs, last up to 10 times longer (or up to seven years, depending on daily use) and can save up to $30 during its lifetime
  • Two high-performance faucet aerators
High-performance aerators save on water heating costs and use up to 20% less water compared to standard fixtures (without reducing water pressure)
  • High-performance showerhead
Receive the same benefits of the faucet aerators, only in your shower (teflon tape for attaching the new showerhead is included)
