Win VIP Passes to The Drop Movie Screening in Portland, Oregon

The Drop - Fox Searchlight

Fox Searchlight has a new crime drama coming out soon. The movie is called The Drop and it stars Tom Hardy and the late James Ganolfini. Wasn’t Ganolfini wonderful in Enough Said? The Drop doesn’t open until September 12th, but there is an early film screening on Wednesday, September 10th at Regal Lloyd Center Theater at 7pm. Ten lucky readers of my Portland blog can win VIP passes to see the screening with a loved one, friend or nemesis. To enter my contest, leave a comment about your favorite James Ganolfini movie or TV show. The deadline to enter is September 4th. The winners will be randomly selected. Note: if you win, the name you use here is the name I will submit to the studio for checking in at the screening.

The Drop Synopsis

The Drop is a new crime drama from Michaël R. Roskam, the Academy Award nominated director of Bullhead. Based on a screenplay from Dennis Lehane (Mystic River, Gone Baby Gone), The Drop follows lonely bartender Bob Saginowski (Tom Hardy) through a covert scheme of funneling cash to local gangsters — money drops — in the underworld of Brooklyn bars. Under the heavy hand of his employer and cousin Marv (James Gandolfini), Bob finds himself at the center of a robbery gone awry and entwined in an investigation that digs deep into the neighborhood’s past where friends, families, and foes all work together to make a living — no matter the cost.

  1. my favorite James Gandolfini movie was enough said with Julia Louis dreyfus! he was just so funny and charming in that movie.

  2. Wasn’t interested in seeing a romance-comedy like “Enough Said” especially with Killing me Softly and Sopranos’s James Ganolfini but my date wanted to watch and it was better than I expected. Great movie

  3. James Gandolfini was mesmerizing in The Soprano. Small wonder he is part of the Greatest TV Icon of All Time list.

  4. A lot of people are going to mention him in The Sopranos, and there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that … but I loved his performance in 8mm as the sleazebag Eddie Poole.

  5. My favorite movie of his is 12 Angry Men but you can’t go wrong with the ever popular Soprano’s!!

  6. Mr. Gandolfini….the perfect gangster…..and the sweetest teddy bear….loved ENOUGH SAID

  7. Really have not seen his movies or TV shows, but have heard a lot of good things about his acting, performance, and the award he received. Now I am looking forward to seeing his movie for I do not want to miss out on him anymore, win or no win of this VIP pass. But, it would be nice and very special if I can win this contest.

  8. I truly enjoyed James G in the voice work for Where the Wild Things are. Such a great story. He was also wonderful in Welcome to the Rileys.

I look forward to seeing him in The Drop.

  9. I LOVE James Gandolfini in “Enough Said”…he was so adorable and charming and had some funny lines. Def a cute movie and I liked how it didn’t seem like a typical part for him and he still did it wonderfully

  10. Actually havent seen much of his work, Im sure the surviving christmas was watched when I was a kid but I dont remember it much. I wish I had a chance to see more before his death, but cant wait to see him in this with tom.
