It’s Fleet Week and the ships are coming to the Portland Rose Festival this weekend. Some of the tours start as early as 9 am Thursday, but you’ll have to wait until 9:30 am Friday if you want to see the big Navy ships. You’ll want to get there early because the lines are really long. I took the kids last year and we waited in line for about four hours. Most of the ships leave Monday morning, so expect delays. Note: the photos on this page were taken last year.
It’s Rose Festival Fleet Week. Unlike last year, ships from the US Navy will be in Portland this year. Yay! Schedules will vary by ship, but the general tour hours are from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm. Public tours are free, but will be on a first-come basis.
More Portland Rose Festival activities this weekend. It’s Fleet Week. Naval vessels from around the world will be available for tours along Tom McCall Waterfront Park. The tours are free, but the Navy ships will leave on Monday. The Grand Floral Parade is also taking place this weekend.
